The National Federation of Middle School Sports serves as the governing body for athletics in grades six through eight across the United States. With more than 14,677 public middle schools nationwide – not including private or home schools – the need for a structured, unified governing body has never been greater.
The NFMSS is proud to provide organized, competitive sports programming for middle schools through:
- Regular Season Games
- Regional Games
- State Championship Games
- National Championship Games
- Special Event Games (e.g., Preseason Jamborees, Holiday Tournaments)
This opportunity is available to schools in every state across the country. We offer a wide variety of sports to ensure that no student athlete is overlooked or left behind.
Middle school athletics have long deserved greater recognition, yet for years, meaningful competitive opportunities simply did not exist at this level. There were no state championships, and certainly no National Championship Games – until now. The National Federation of Middle School Sports is changing that. We are here to make one thing clear: middle school sports matter.
Please note: NFMSS membership is exclusively available to middle school programs competing under their school’s name and banner. AAU and club teams are not eligible to participate.
This is a historic opportunity for your school to be represented on a national stage.
