The National Federation of Middle School Sports exists to advance education-based athletics for students in grades six through eight by creating safe, structured, and meaningful opportunities for school-based competition. Through local, regional, state, and national championship pathways, NFMSS promotes student recognition, sportsmanship, leadership, health and safety, academic growth, and equal access for middle school student-athletes across the United States.
